As you know, our mission depends on volunteers all over the world, from assisting with administrative work at our offices to wheelchair assembly and distribution in each of our recipient countries.

We also have volunteers doing important work from coffee shops, offices, or perhaps even their living room sofas. Though you might not be able to tell by looking, these volunteers are performing a crucial task – they translate our training materials.

cafe Spanish translation

Volunteers from Translators Without Borders have translated information on the repair and maintenance of our wheelchairs into languages including Thai, Spanish, Arabic, French, Portuguese, Chinese, and Russian. Though it might seem simple, an accurate translation of this information is vital in ensuring that the wheelchairs do not go to waste. With a correctly-assembled, properly-fitted, well-maintained wheelchair, a person with a disability can have years of greater mobility, safety, and independence.

These volunteers use the time and talents that they already have to make a tremendous impact in the lives of people they may never meet. So do you! Your prayers and support in providing the gift of mobility are transforming the lives of individuals, families, and communities throughout the world. We’ll share more of their stories in the weeks to come.

Blessings,

Don Schoendorfer
