Greetings and happy Friday Monday!

This week I received a very special note and photo from one of our partners in India that I wanted to share with you:

Greetings, Don! I hope you remember that you planted a tree at my home—through the tree I am reminded of you every day. I drive out through the gate and notice the tree and the fragrance of the flowers. They are not very showy, but the pale yellow blossoms have a lovely fragrance. In fact, this fragrance has made Champa flowers very popular for use in local ceremonies and homes. It reminds me a lot of your work. Free Wheelchair Mission’s wheelchairs may not be flashy like a car, but they are a beautiful gift to the needy. I always check your site to see the progress your great mission is making and it is really unbelievable! All these years I have taken care of the “Don Tree” and I will continue doing it. I always remember you and you continue to inspire me. If you visit Kerala again please do visit us and see the tree. God bless you.

I love this story for many reasons, but most of all because this tree is not just a symbol of friendship between me and our partners in
India—it is a symbol of friendship with you as well. When you partner with us in giving the gift of mobility, you join all of us around the world. I’m proud to call you partner, and I’m glad to call you friend.

Blessings,

Don Schoendorfer
