“Almost always, the creative dedicated minority has made the world better.” – Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

I’m excited to give you all a sweet (pun absolutely intended) opportunity to join Free Wheelchair Mission in giving the gift of mobility to people around the world.

One of our Ambassadors, Sara Pasterski, is renowned for her chocolate chip cookies. Now I happen to consider myself a connoisseur of cookies and word on the street is these are some of the best. Recently Sara set out to use her baking skills to help her friends sate their sweet-teeth while helping others gain mobility.

Rather than just bake the cookies and give them out, Sara has provided an opportunity to purchase cookies with 100% of the proceeds going towards the purchase of wheelchairs through Free Wheelchair Mission. She has committed to raising enough money for 36 wheelchairs; “one for each year of my life I will celebrate this year, which, by the grace of God, have been 36 healthy years.”

If you’re interested in some delicious cookies made with a spoonful of mobility and dash of selflessness, you can head to Sara’s fundraising page here.

Here are the logistics: “[y]ou may choose to donate any amount you’d like, but for a $10 donation I will give you a baker’s dozen of my delicious, homemade chocolate chip cookies.  Donations can be made directly to Free Wheelchair Mission on my personal fundraising page… I will then arrange for cookies to be delivered throughout one week of each month for all the donations received online (I am notified of the donor’s information via email).”

You can also help out by:

  • Spreading the word
  • Talking to Sara about opportunities to apply for grants / matching funds
  • Selling bags of cookies (cash and carry basis)
  • Helping deliver cookies one day a month
  • Donating supplies

Good cookies, for a good cause—can’t beat it!

If you have a creative way of helping give others the transformational gift of mobility, let us know! We always love to hear about how people are engaging with their communities and want to hear from you!
